Privacy policy
A short, plain-English summary of how this website handles information.
Last updated: July 2026
Scope
This policy covers the mintid.net website only. MintID is a research-stage protocol project, and these pages exist to share information about that research.
It does not govern any third-party site you reach through a link, nor any future application that may be built on the protocol.
What we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. The site keeps basic server logs and uses Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic in aggregate: approximate location, device and browser type, and which pages were viewed.
We do not sell personal data, we do not use this information to build advertising profiles, and we never join analytics identifiers to any real-world identity.
The contact form works entirely in your browser: it simply opens your own email app with the message pre-filled. Nothing is sent to any third party — the email travels directly from you to our inbox, and we use the details only to answer you.
The protocol versus the website
The MintID protocol itself is engineered so that no raw KYC material, personal data or identity-check logs are ever written to the chain. Holders keep their own keys and prove claims in zero knowledge against published trust roots.
The data handling described here is entirely separate from the protocol and concerns only ordinary web analytics for this informational site.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served as static pages from a content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront, with storage on Amazon S3). Like any web server, the network may keep standard access logs — the requesting IP address, the page requested and the time — which we use only for security and capacity monitoring.
The pages themselves run no scripts beyond the analytics snippet described above: there are no trackers, no advertising pixels, no embedded third-party widgets.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies and, if enabled, analytics cookies. You can block or clear cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site will continue to work for reading.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because we collect so little, the honest answer will usually be an email you once sent us plus aggregate analytics that identify no one — but the request is always yours to make.
If you are in the European Union, these requests are backed by the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Changes
We may update this policy as the project evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the latest version.
